Gunman robs NE pharmacy

A gunman held up a Rhawnhurst pharmacy right under the noses of unsuspecting patrons one recent afternoon.

The robber slipped into the Rite Aid at 8130 Roosevelt Blvd. at about 4:30 p.m. on March 14 and told a store manager, “I have a gun. Let’s go get the money,” according to police. The robber followed the manager to the store safe, then forced the manager to open it.

After grabbing an undisclosed amount of cash and stuffing it into a bag, the gunman held the manager in a room until patrons left the store. The robber then forced the manager to give him the money in the cash registers.

The crook was last seen fleeing southbound through the store parking lot, then westbound behind the store. He was described as black, 5 feet 4 inches tall and 35 to 45 years old with a goatee. He wore a black hat, black jacket, brown sweater, white T-shirt, stonewashed jeans and tan Timberland boots. Visit the Philadelphia Police channel on YouTube.com to view the surveillance video.
